WHERE TO LOOK
The Harold Wing Observation Site provides a panoramic view of Mud Lake Marsh for wetland birds. Entrance into the Mud Lake Marsh is by written permit only. Birding along mowed trails is good for seeing grassland, shrub and woodland birds as you pass through these habitats. In spring, the trees along the west side of the grassland and woods north of Eagle Lake are good for neotropical migrants. Large flocks of waterfowl can be seen in the spring south of the Portage River Drain.  Park near the Wooster Rd. bridge and walking east along the dike. Do not proceed beyond the private land signs.
